2014 Mid-Atlantic Select AAU Squad Prospects, including Frederick County,MD Player of year Zach Thomas

Class of 2014 Local Highschool Prospects. 2 Locals receiving interest from Mount Saint Mary's University...

Zach Thomas, F, Oakdale: Thomas (6-5, 180) is an extremely crafty scorer who has already eclipsed the 1,000-point mark after just two varsity seasons. Thomas' toughness is his trademark; he fights for every bucket, rebound and loose ball. He is active and aggressive on D, which makes up for the fact that he is not particularly athletic. Arguably the top player in Frederick County, Thomas is attracting early interest from Bucknell, Mount St. Mary's and Richmond.

Clay Conner, PG, Linganore: Another Frederick County standout, Conner (5-9, 160) doubles as a football player for Linganore. That said, he is well-built and athletic and has extremely quick feet. Another tough player, Conner fights through screens with ease and locks in on man-to-man assignments. Offensively, Conner needs to become a bit more confident and aggressive. The sophomore seemed tentative to take chances with the ball, but some of that could be attributed to the fact that he is new to the MAS program. He is a very good outside shooter with a slightly unorthodox stroke. Bucknell, Longwood and Mount St. Mary's are all keeping tabs on the lefty point- guard prospect.
