Brooklyn Shooting Guard Rashad Andrews drawing serious interest from Mount Saint Mary's

Brooklyn Shooting Guard drawing serious interest from several D-1 schools for 2012-2013.

Rashad Andrews had committed to a Division II school as a junior but after transferring to Boys & Girls HS in Brooklyn, NY things changed.

Ravi Rozier
Rashad Andrews
When the sharpshooter won the MVP during the PSAL City championship and helped lead the Kangaroos to a Federation TOC chip, Andrews decided to de-commit.

"I decided to open my recruitment back up and see what's out there," he told NYCHoops.net.

Boys & Girls assistant coach Elmer Anderson agrees with Andrew's decision to de-commit saying, "I can't really blame him. He feels like he's a division I player."

During the PSAL City championship in March, Andrews netted a game high 26 points which propelled the Kangaroos over Thomas Jefferson Campus for their third straight public school title.

Andrews, who transferred to Boys & Girls from St. Anthony's (NJ), followed that performance by hitting clutch shots upstate as the Roos topped defending champion Mt. Vernon for the Federation title.

"He's a legitimate 6-4," said Anderson. "He's athletic and also defends well."

Anderson says he is confident that Andrews will find a school within the next month and could possibly be a late signee.

According to Andrews, South Carolina, Siena and Mt. Saint Mary's have already expressed significant interest. The shooting guard said he has also not ruled out his original choice. "I still may go to Adelphi.

Looks to be a great recruiting class for Mount Saint Mary's if they can get Andrews to commit for 2012-2013 school year!!
